Jonathan Majors Arrested

Jonathan Majors Alleged Assault Case: Trial Date Set

Jonathan Majors Arrested

Jonathan Majors Arrested: Majors arrived at the New York criminal court wearing sunglasses and a brown linen suit. Majors was arrested on March 25 in New York City and charged with assault and harassment.

The Emmy Award nominee appeared in court Tuesday in relation to domestic violence charges filed against him by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

During the brief hearing Tuesday, a trial date of August 3 was set. Majors who was seated in the audience of a fourth-floor courtroom in Manhattan Criminal Court agreed to continue to stay away from the complainant Grace Jabbari.

The arrest of the Marvel actor took place on March 25th in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood, following a 911 call. According to police reports, a 30-year-old woman alleged that Majors assaulted her, resulting in minor injuries to her head and neck. However, Majors’ criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, vehemently denies any wrongdoing on her client’s part. Chaudhry maintains that Majors made the emergency call out of concern for the woman’s mental health.

After being released from police custody on the same day, Majors now faces charges of assault and aggravated harassment, both classified as misdemeanors. Since the incident, a judge granted a full temporary order of protection for the woman involved, a standard measure requested by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and accepted by the defense counsel.

The Creed III actor has since been dropped by his management and public relations firms, as well as several onscreen projects.

Chaudhry called the allegations a “witch hunt” and accused the arresting officers of racial bias following a hearing in May, during which the district attorney presented a revised misdemeanor assault charge.
